We are looking for a DevOps Engineer to join a product-focused team building and scaling a leading European e-commerce platform within the sustainable retail sector.

The product connects thousands of consumers with environmentally conscious brands and merchants, offering a broad range of lifestyle and fashion products. The platform has been successfully operating for over a decade and continues to grow, serving a large user base while maintaining a startup mindset, strong product ownership, and a focus on innovation.

In this role, you will help shape and evolve a modern cloud infrastructure that enables development teams to deliver features efficiently, reliably, and securely. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, contribute to platform-wide technical decisions, and directly impact the product's scalability, resilience, and long-term evolution.

• Commercial experience in DevOps, Platform Engineering, Site Reliability Engineering (SRE), or a similar role.
• Strong hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
• Proven production experience with Kubernetes.
• Solid understanding of system architecture, monitoring, observability, and reliability engineering principles.
• Experience designing, maintaining, and optimizing CI/CD pipelines and automation processes.
• Strong expertise with Terraform and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) practices.
• Experience troubleshooting distributed systems and production environments.
• Ability to work independently, take ownership of infrastructure initiatives, and drive technical improvements.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.
• Nice to Have:
• Experience supporting applications built with Ruby on Rails and/or React.
• Experience with Helm, Terragrunt, and GitHub Actions.
• Familiarity with cloud-native services such as messaging systems, managed databases, and caching solutions.
• Experience with networking, traffic management, and service mesh technologies.
• Software development background.
• Degree in Computer Science or a related field.
• German language skills.

• Maintain a comprehensive view of the platform infrastructure and actively contribute to its continuous evolution.
• Ensure smooth day-to-day platform operations while maintaining high levels of scalability, reliability, availability, and performance.
• Implement and maintain security best practices to safeguard the platform and protect customer data.
• Design, optimize, and automate CI/CD pipelines, deployment workflows, and infrastructure processes.
• Continuously improve and automate build, release, and testing processes.
• Manage and enhance cloud-native infrastructure running on Google Cloud Platform.
• Develop, maintain, and improve Infrastructure as Code solutions using Terraform.
• Collaborate closely with software engineers, Product Owners, and cross-functional stakeholders.
• Improve monitoring, observability, incident response, and operational excellence practices.
• Research, evaluate, and introduce new technologies that enhance platform capabilities, reliability, and developer productivity.
